Imbros Gorge
The gorge of Imbros begins from the last houses of Imbros village and ends at Komitades village on the south coast. Its crossing is smooth and easy. It is accessible through out the year unless it rains or snows heavily. The gorge is 8klm long and the walk takes about 2 to 2 ½ hours.
Within one hour walk the visitor reaches the Mesofarago (middle of the gorge) where is a Venetian cistern. At this point during the summer there is a local man with a donkey (to help those who are tired from walking) and with some refreshments for those who are thirsty. The narrowest passage of the gorge is nearly 300m high and 2m wide. Imbros gorge ends to a rocky shore on the south coast of the island.
