Rental Terms
CAR HIRE POLICY - INSURANCE - TERMS & CONDITIONS
Our prices include:
INSURANCE POLICY
1. CDW (Collision Damage Waiver)
The customers are relieved of the responsibility of any damage caused to our car, provided they follow the traffic regulations, they drive the car on asphalt-paved roads only and they park the car in parking areas.
The insurance also covers damages caused to the parts underneath the car in case of a collision but not when the car is driven on non- asphalt-paved roads (tyres are not covered by any insurance in this case)
2. PL (Public Liability) or Third Party Insurance
The cars are insured with liability and fully comprehensive vehicle and property damage insurance up to 1.000.000 euro for individuals and up to 1.000.000 euro for damaged properties.
3. Glass Insurance
The renter is relieved of the responsibility in case of a broken car glass
4. Fire Insurance
The renter is relieved of the responsibility in case of fire
5. Theft Insurance
6. PAI (Personal Accident Insurance)
It covers the passengers in case of fatality or physical injury in a collision.
Also included in our prices:
1. Free Kilometres
No extra charge for kilometres.
2. Free Cancellation
You can cancel your reservation without any cost up to 14 days before collecting our rental car.
3. Taxes
Our prices include 24% VAT taxes, local taxes and airport fees.
4. 24-hour Road Assistance all over Crete
Our Road Assistance provides 24/7 road assistance all over the island.
5. Free Baby / Child Seat
Just advise the age of your children.
The 1st Baby or child seat is free of charge. Each additional seat costs 2 € /day, payable on arrival.
6. Delivery and Collection of the vehicle
Deliveries and collections of our rental cars are possible to most places in Crete.
7. Cleaning, maintenance, oil and greasing are included in our prices
8. Road Map of Crete
A fully detailed Road Map of Crete free of charge is included in the hired car.
9. No extra charge in case of flight delay (not more than 1,5 hours)
No worries if your flight is delayed, within our working hours. We will be there, waiting for you.
CAR HIRE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Age Requirement
The renter and any extra drivers must be a minimum of 23 years of age for all car categories.
2. Driver's Licence
Drivers must have a valid EU or International Drivers' license issued at least one year before.
3. Traffic Fines - Violations - Accessories - Car Keys
All traffic fines resulting from any violation of the Greek Traffic law during the rental period are strictly the renter's responsibility and must be paid by the renter. Losing or destroying any kind of car accessories is not covered by the insurance. Losing or breaking the car key is not covered by the insurance.
In both of the above cases, the renter is surcharged by the cost of replacement.
4. Fuel
The car must be returned with the same level of fuel as when it was delivered.
5. Rental Period
Minimum rental period is 3 days. The first hour of delay in returning the car is not charged. Over 2 hours delay will be charged as one extra day of rental. For rentals of longer than 28 days, please contact us by email or phone.
6. Insurance coverage in case of accidents
In case of an accident, especially if another car or individual is involved, our company, as well as the nearest police station must be informed and a police accident report must be filled out (please read the brochure you are given on the pickup day that has all this helpful information). If we are not notified, and without the police report, or the insurance expert's report, the renter is responsible for the full amount of the repairs of the car.
The renter will also be responsible for the full amount of the repairs of the car in the following cases: driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving on non-asphalt paved roads or unauthorized roads and driving in prohibited areas. All these show the customer's disregard to our vehicle.
The company reserves the right to retain the renter's credit card information as a guarantee for our cars. In case of an accident caused by the renter's own fault (careless driving, violation of traffic rules), there will be a charge on the renter's card accordingly (this excess amount will be advised beforehand).
DEPOSIT & PAYMENT
The amount of 50 Euros is required upon reservation. You will have to confirm your booking by either charging your credit card through our SSL server, by Paypal, or by bank transfer. Only after the payment is completed, will your request be considered as a booking.
The rest of the amount will be paid off upon delivery of the car.

DEPOSIT FOR EXCESS:
Upon pick-up of your rental car, Artemis S.A. will pre-authorise an amount from the driver's credit/debit card, as a guarantee (excess) for our car. At the end of your rental period, this amount will be fully refunded, provided no harm / damage has been done to our car. The refund procedure may take up to 2-3 weeks, depending on the issuing bank of the renter's card. The excess / pre-authorization amount varies as follows:
Car groups A, B, C (smaller categories): 300 Euros
Car groups E, F, V (bigger categories): 400 Euros
AVAILABILITY
Car models will be provided according to the original agreement. In the extreme case of no such availability, we reserve the right to provide another similar model, or if this is not possible, decline the booking and inform you immediately.
We also reserve the right to decline a reservation which seems problematic to us.

Each additional seat costs 2 € /day, payable on arrival.
4. Delivery and Collection of the vehicle in destinations out of our list
For locations not registered in our list, there will be an additional charge which will be advised before the delivery of the car.
5.After-hours deliveries and collections
Our working hours are 08:00-20:30 daily.
Deliveries and collections of cars between 20:30 - 08:00 hours are subject to a charge which will be advised in advance.
